“To support and enhance education, opportunities, and the surroundings for students of St. Mary’s School”
Who we are: Parents Care is a group that all parents with children from Preschool to 8th Grade at St. Mary’s School belong to. We help with many different “extras” throughout the school year that have a Mom and Dad personal touch. All of our children benefit from this.
Over the years we’ve purchased the playground equipment, several Smart Boards, I-Pads, the climbing wall and gym equipment. Parents Care activities include: Campus-Cleanup in August, SCRIP Trees for teachers, candy bar sales, teacher conference meals, basket raffles and pies at the fish fries, teacher appreciation breakfast, concession stand for softball games, Family Fun Night and much more!
Where and when are the meetings?
We hold 5 meetings a year that all parents are encouraged to attend. They are in September, November, January, March & May. These meetings are held in the evenings, usually at 6:30 pm, and generally last 1 – 1 1/2 hours. We send out an e-mail reminder of the meetings a day or two ahead of time. The meetings dates are also in the monthly school letter.
How can I get involved?
There are many ways to get involved in Parents Care. You can come to a meeting and see what it’s all about– you can participate in discussion or just come to listen. Another way is when your family is asked to help with activities such as selling Cash Raffle tickets or working at the Fish Fries, please help when possible. You may be asked to help with an event or asked to make some goodies. Whatever it may be, your willingness to volunteer helps St. Mary’s School be a wonderful place for all of our children!
