The Miller, His Son, and Their Donkey

 

            Try to please all and you end by pleasing none.

            Sew, aliting, the miller and hiz sun tyed the beest’s legs toogether, and with a poal across there shoulders, carryed the donkie over the brige that lead to the town.  This was such an entertaning site too the townsfolk that crowds caime owt to laff at it.  The pore animel, fritened by the uprore, began two strugle two frea himself.  In the midst of the termoil the donkie sliped off the poal and over the rale of the brige into the watter and drouned.

            But just as thay reached the edje of the villaje a townsman called owt to them:  “Eye have a good miend to reaport yoo too the authoritys for overloding that pore beest so shamelessie.  Yoo big hulking felloes shud better bee abel to carrie that donkie then the other weigh arownd.

            “Why, shaim on yoo, lazeebones!” thay cryed.  “How can yoo ried wile that poor little lad can hardlee keep up with yoo?”  The good milller, wishing too pleese, took up his sun two sitt beehind him.

            The miller maid his sun dismount, and got on the donkies’ back in his plase.  And in this manner thay proseeded along the weigh until thay mett a companee of wimen adn childran.
