PARENT'S CARE MEETING - MAY 19th
Our Mission Statement is to support and enhance education, opportunities and surroundings for the students of St. Mary's School. Thanks to all who have become involved with Parent's Care and helped support the students at St. Mary's School.
Notes from the President
Parents’ Care sponsored Family Fun Night again this year. There were many activities for all to enjoy including: arts and crafts, plinko, bean bag toss, roulette games, face painting, bingo, cookie decorating, Wii bowling tournament, and open gym. Lemonade and popcorn were also served. Thanks to the many parent volunteers that helped make Family Fun Night a great success. We truly appreciate all your support. We hope everyone had a fun time!
Parents’ Care scholarships were awarded during Awards Night ceremony at the Caledonia High School on Sunday, April 18 th . Winners of the scholarships this year were awarded to Adam Meyer, son of Chris and Clark Meyer and Marisa Bruening, daughter of Kathy and Henry Bruening. Congratulations Adam and Marisa. Thanks to all the applicants.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3 – 7. Parents’ Care is working on some activities for the week.
Parents’ Care is looking for a President for the next school year. If you are interested in being President of Parents’ Care, please contact Carla Gavin at gavinfamily@sgwb.coop.
The next Parents’ Care meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 19, 2010. All parents of children attending St Mary’s School are invited to attend.
Dress Code
Beginning May 1st students are allowed to wear modest length shorts to school. Shorts should not be worn when the class is on the altar for mass. No flip-flop type sandals are allowed. Tennis shoes are still the best choice. Sleeveless shirts and bare midriffs are not allowed.
SPRING CONCERT
St. Mary’s Spring Concert is on Wednesday, May 5th at 6:30. The students are asked to wear good clothes and to be in their classrooms at 6:10.
Teacher Appreciation Week is May 3 – 7. Encourage the children to show their teachers true appreciation!
CALENDAR of EVENTS
We have LOTS of fun things going on during the month of May. Please look at the Calendar for all the activities we have coming up. A signed permission slip must be in the school office before a student is allowed to be dismissed on a field trip.

Hello Parents,Many thank you’s to Faith Bergin for her years of service to St. Mary’s School. We wish Faith well as she begins her new career with Globe University.
We are happy to announce that Patty Klinski will be moving from the parish office to become the new administrative assistant at our school. Throughout the month of May, Patty will transition from her current job as parish secretary to join the school support staff. Welcome Patty!
Please know that I will be watching our student drop-off extra closely next week. If there is a need to change our procedure, I will inform you as soon as possible.
There are many different activities happening during May and June.
